Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services seeks an experienced SAP GTS Functional Consultant to design, configure, test, and support SAP GTS solutions for global trade processes. You will work with business stakeholders, SAP S/4HANA teams, and data teams to implement trade compliance, customs management, and preference processing.

The role requires hands-on SAP GTS expertise and experience in SIT, UAT, defect resolution, cutover, and hypercare activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years of SAP consulting experience with SAP GTS.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on SAP GTS experience and at least one full lifecycle SAP GTS or GTS E4H project.

Responsibilities

• Participate in workshops with business and IT stakeholders.

SAP GTS Functional Consultant

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

We are seeking an experienced SAP GTS Functional Consultant to support the design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support of SAP Global Trade Services solutions.

The consultant will work with business stakeholders, senior functional consultants, SAP S/4HANA teams, integration teams, and data teams to implement trade compliance, customs management, product classification, and preference-processing capabilities.

The role requires hands‑on SAP GTS functional expertise, strong understanding of international trade processes, and experience supporting SIT, UAT, defect resolution, cutover, and hypercare activities

Roles & Responsibilities

Requirement Gathering and Process Design

• *Participate in workshops with business and IT stakeholders.


• *Gather and document business requirements for global trade processes.


• *Prepare business-process documents, functional specifications, and configuration documents.


• *Perform fit‑gap analysis and identify opportunities to use standard SAP functionality.


• *Support the development of process flows and user stories.


• *Assist in validating solution designs with business stakeholders.

Trade Compliance

Configure and support the following SAP GTS processes:

• *Sanctioned Party List screening


• *Embargo checks


• *Legal control


• *Export licence determination


• *Import and export compliance


• *Block management and compliance‑document processing


• *Compliance master‑data maintenance


• *Product classification using ECCN and related regulatory codes

Customs Management

• *Support import and export customs processes.


• *Configure customs declarations and related document flows.


• *Support tariff‑code and HTS classification.


• *Assist with customs‑document processing and brokerage integration.


• *Support Intrastat reporting where applicable.


• *Assist in the resolution of customs and compliance processing issues.

Preference Management

• *Support preference determination and preference processing.


• *Assist with vendor declaration and long‑term vendor declaration processes.


• *Maintain relevant master data and configuration.


• *Support preference‑related testing and issue resolution.

SAP GTS Configuration

• *Configure SAP GTS or SAP GTS E4H functional components based on approved requirements.


• *Support migration from legacy SAP GTS platforms to SAP GTS E4H.


• *Prepare configuration documents and maintain traceability with functional requirements.


• *Support functional unit testing and configuration validation.


• *Work with senior consultants and architects to resolve complex design issues.

SAP S/4HANA and Enterprise Integration

• *Support integration between SAP GTS and SAP S/4HANA.


• *Validate feeder‑system transactions and document transfer to SAP GTS.


• *Support Order‑to‑Cash, Procure‑to‑Pay, logistics, and supply‑chain process integration.


• *Work with technical teams on IDocs, APIs, workflows, enhancements, reports, and interfaces.


• *Support testing with customs brokers and external trade applications.


• *Investigate interface failures and coordinate resolution with technical team

Generic Managerial Skills

• *Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.


• *7+ years of SAP consulting experience.


• *Minimum 4 years of hands‑on SAP GTS experience.


• *At least one full‑life‑cycle SAP GTS or SAP GTS E4H implementation.


• *Strong understanding of international trade compliance and customs processes.


• *Experience preparing functional specifications and configuration documents.


• *Experience with SIT, UAT, defect management, cutover, and hypercare.


• *Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.


• *Ability to work with global onsite and offshore teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• *SAP GTS certification.


• *SAP GTS E4H implementation or migration experience.


• *SAP S/4HANA integration experience.


• *Experience in manufacturing, technology, logistics, or supply‑chain environments.


• *Knowledge of export‑control terminology, including ECCN and licence determination.


• *Exposure to Agile, SAFe, or SAP Activate delivery methodologies.


• *Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, SAP Cloud ALM, or Solution Manager.
