Job description

Atlanta Legal Aid Society (“Legal Aid”) seeks a Staff Attorney for its Fulton County Office located in Downtown Atlanta. Our non-profit law firm represents low-income persons in a variety of civil legal matters, including family, housing, consumer, employment, health, public benefits, and education law. The Fulton Office provides advice and representation to persons in Fulton County in a variety of legal matters including tenant protection, benefits (income and healthcare), consumer protection, public school education, and family law. In addition to direct client services, the office provides advice through the Fulton County Family Law Information Center. The staff consists of a managing attorney, one senior staff attorney, three staff attorneys, three paralegals, and two receptionists.

Responsibilities:
  • Handling a mixed caseload using a variety of advocacy methods including transactional work, negotiation, mediation, and litigation.
  • Participating in community education, task forces, committees, social service organizations, national and local bar associations.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Salary and Benefits:
  • This position offers a salary of $70,250, but may vary (up or down) depending on work experience. Salaries are reviewed annually and may be adjusted based on available funding.
  • Generous fringe benefits, including 16 paid holidays in 2026, 6 weeks of paid time off (accruing at 2.5 days per month), and 6 weeks of parental leave (12 weeks after one year).
