Distinct | North America is seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney to handle sophisticated coverage matters with the flexibility of fully remote or hybrid work. You will advise insurers on policy interpretation and manage complex disputes while maintaining your California Bar license.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license is required to practice.
• Experience handling complex insurance coverage disputes and handling litigation from investigation to resolution.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a larger legal team.

Responsibilities

• Advising insurance companies on complex coverage matters and policy interpretation.
• Handling high-exposure coverage disputes including professional liability and mass torts.
• Managing litigation from initial investigation through settlement or trial.
• Preparing coverage opinions, memoranda, pleadings and motions.
• Taking and defending depositions and participating in court proceedings.
• Developing litigation strategies and case budgets.
• Negotiating settlements and advising clients.
• Maintaining accurate billable-time records and deadlines.
