Job summary

The DeLong Co., Inc. is seeking a Spotter Driver for our Joliet, IL location. The role involves moving 20–50 containers daily in an outdoor yard, backing containers to loading docks, and assisting in grain handling operations as needed.

Typical shift is 6am–4pm with occasional Saturdays in the fall. Wage starts at $21.00 per hour, based on experience, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, Rx, life insurance, and a 401k plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Excellent people skills and ability to collaborate.
• Flexible and able to multitask in a fast-moving environment.
• Ability to work long hours including weekends, holidays and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Move 20–50 containers per day in an 8–10 hour shift.
• Back containers up to loading dock and open/close container doors as needed.
• Operate industrial tractor to move trailers within the yard.
• Hook/unhook trailers and secure outbound trailer doors.
• Perform daily yard checks and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Assist in grain handling operations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
