Job summary

Hudson & Charles in NYC is seeking an experienced Whole Animal Butcher to break beef, pig, lamb, goat and poultry. You will uphold our sustainable, whole-animal philosophy and engage with customers about our sourcing and cutting style.

A strong commitment to exceptional service is essential. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week with compensation of $30–$33 per hour DOE, plus 5 days of PTO and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift at least 100 pounds.
• Available for holidays.
• Highly organized and self-motivated.
• Able to break a full beef into retail cuts in a single 7.5 hour shift.
• Team player capable of working in a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities

• Unloading deliveries.
• Breaking beef, pig, lamb, goat to sub primal's.
• Fabricating poultry.
• Cleaning muscles for retail sales.
• Case setup and walk-in organization.
• Assist customers with cooking instructions and cut alternatives.
• Assist in training apprentices.
