Job summary

Wegmans in Ashland, VA is hiring a warehouse selector for full-time shifts in a distribution environment. You will select products for Wegmans stores, build pallets, and help maintain cold-chain integrity.

Overnights with four 10-hour shifts per week are available; frozen items receive a $2.00/hour premium. Competitive benefits and career growth are included.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect.
• Ability to lift 20-25 lbs regularly and up to 50+ lbs occasionally.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts and weekends.
• Availability for full-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Build pallets safely and efficiently to maximize trailer space.
• Operate pallet jack, forklift, or Vocollect as required.
• Perform order audits for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain knowledge of quality standards and product specs.
• Inform management of daily quality issues via reports.
• Maintain cold chain integrity on temperature-controlled loads.
• Lift 20–25 lbs on average; heavier weights occasionally.

As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you’ll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores, using your attention to detail and teamwork skills to ensure success.

Work schedule: Overnight positions consist of four 10-hour shifts per week

What You'll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

Note: Frozen positions earn an extra $2.00 /hour
