Job summary

Berkshire Waldorf School in Great Barrington, MA is seeking a full-time Spanish teacher for the 2027-2028 school year. The ideal candidate is a native speaker or highly fluent in Spanish with Waldorf teaching experience and a passion for culture, song, poetry, and stories for grades 1–3.

The role covers grades 1–8 with emphasis on conversation, grammar, writing, and reading comprehension from grade 4 onward. On-campus schedule is 7:45 am–3:15 pm, with mentoring and collaboration across teachers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Native speaker or advanced fluency in Spanish.
• Waldorf teacher certificate or enrollment in Waldorf training preferred; mentorship if not completed.

Responsibilities

• Teach Spanish classes for Grades 1–8.
• Lead curriculum with culture/traditions of Spanish-speaking nations; focus on song, poetry, and stories for grades 1–3 and conversation, grammar, writing, and reading comprehension for grade 4 onward.
• Teach historical and geographical awareness of the Spanish-speaking world.
• Prepare lesson plans, student work, assessments, and reports according to Berkshire Waldorf School standards.
• Cultivate joy and curiosity in language learning and maintain positive classroom management across ages.
• On-campus schedule from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, Monday–Friday.
