Job summary

Berkshire Waldorf School is seeking a full-time Spanish teacher for the 2027-2028 school year in Great Barrington, MA. The ideal candidate is a native Spanish speaker or highly fluent and has a strong connection to Spanish-speaking cultures, with Waldorf teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities include teaching Grades 1-8, developing a culturally rich curriculum, and collaborating with staff. On-campus work hours are 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Native Spanish speaker or advanced fluency; Waldorf background preferred.
• Waldorf teaching certificate or enrollment in Waldorf training preferred; personalized mentorship program available.
• Minimum of three years paid experience in an accredited primary school.

Responsibilities

• Teach Spanish classes for Grades 1-8.
• Lead curriculum with culture and traditions of Spanish-speaking nations; emphasize song, poetry, stories for grades 1–3 and grammar, writing, reading for grade 4+.
• Teach historical and geographical awareness of the Spanish-speaking world.
• Prepare lesson plans, student work, assessments, and reports according to BWS standards.
• Foster joy, curiosity, and positive attitude toward language learning; maintain consistent classroom management across ages.
• On campus by 7:45 am until 3:15 pm, Monday–Friday.
