Job summary

San Francisco Waldorf School is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher to guide a warm, rhythm-based classroom for young children. You will work closely with an assistant teacher to provide a nurturing environment grounded in Waldorf philosophy.

The role requires Waldorf Early Childhood training, California credentialing, and at least two years of Waldorf teaching experience. On-site schedule is 8:00am–2:00pm, with occasional additional hours for events.

Qualifications

• Preschool Lead Teacher must hold the appropriate California credential as specified.
• Completion of Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Training.
• At least 2 years of Waldorf teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Preschool class and manage daily rhythm.
• Create and maintain an organized classroom space.
• Observe and tailor activities to individual children.
• Oversee daily operations and supervise the assistant teacher.
• Coordinate attendance and program rosters.
• Plan and host Welcome events and play dates with families.
• Assist the director with applications and interviews.
• Attend parent-teacher conferences as needed.
• Coordinate events with parents and staff.
