Job summary

SOUTH CENTRAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING CTR seeks a Vocational Specialist in Andover, KS for full‑time service delivery within the Community Support Program. You will help clients access competitive employment, build job skills, and coordinate with employers and VR resources.

Responsibilities include conducting employment assessments, validating fit, teaching resumes and interview techniques, and providing job coaching while coordinating with the treatment team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or combination of work experience in human services/ business with one year of related experience.
• Experience with psychiatric disorders and knowledge of community resources preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Deliver vocational rehabilitation supports/services within the Community Support Program.
• Develop and maintain relationships with area employers and VR/community resources.
• Conduct written employment assessments: work history, strengths, preferences, goals.
• Match clients with jobs based on fit for employer and individual.
• Advocate for clients with team members, employers and families.
• Educate clients on resumes, applications and interview skills.
• Provide job coaching and crisis intervention planning.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and supervision.
• Complete documentation and required paperwork.
