National Veterinary Associates in Bend, OR seeks a veterinary assistant to support the hospital team. This full-time role covers a 10-hour shift schedule from 7:30am to 6:00pm, Monday through Saturday, assisting patient care and treating animals under supervision.

The candidate will monitor hospitalized pets, aid in after-surgery care, maintain supplies, restrain animals for procedures, and assist with diagnostics while providing client support.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Must be a self-starter, able to multitask and a team player.
• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and stays calm when they are stressed or in pain.
• Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required.
• Ability to meet physical demands: lift up to 40 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsabilités

• Assist with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and aid in post-surgery care.
• Maintain inventory and stocking.
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims.
• Assist with routine diagnostic tests (radiographs, bloodwork, fecal).
• Sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Clean/disenfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas.
• Administer medications under supervision.
• Feeding and bathing animals.
• Help clients with their pets.
