Job summary

Western Shore Veterinary Hospital in Annapolis is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant/CSR to join our privately owned, compassionate team. You will support veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, client communication, and maintain smooth appointment flow.

This role emphasizes top-notch patient care and extraordinary client service in a fast-paced clinic. Previous experience in veterinary restraint, phlebotomy, radiography, and practice management software is valued.

Qualifications

• Clinical veterinary assistant skills including restraint, phlebotomy, lab procedures, client education, radiography, and patient nursing.
• Experience with ezyVet, IDEXX in-house diagnostics; Cornerstone is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, patient care, diagnostics, and client communication.
• Help maintain appointment efficiency and uphold hospital standards.
• Provide exceptional patient care in a busy clinical setting with strong technical skills.
• Handle phone calls, emails, and texts with clear communication and professionalism.
• Schedule appointments and document messages, maintaining patient and client records.

Position Details

• Full-Time
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week (CSR/Tech assignments dependent on hospital need)
• Monday through Friday
• No evenings or weekends

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, patient care, diagnostics, and client communication.
• Help maintain appointment efficiency and uphold hospital standards.
• Utilize strong technical skills to provide exceptional patient care in a busy clinical setting.
• Use strong communication and organizational skills to answer phone calls, emails, and text messages.
• Schedule appointments, accurately document messages and maintain patient and client records.

Qualifications

• Clinical veterinary assistant skills with experience in restraint, phlebotomy, laboratory procedures, client education, radiography, and patient nursing.
• Experience with:
  • ezyVet Practice Management Software
  • IDEXX in-house diagnostics
  • Cornerstone Practice Management Software is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and support fellow team members.
