About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join VO Vets' newest Animal Hospital in Trophy Club, TX. Our hospital is committed to providing convenient, lifelong, low-stress care for pets, utilizing the latest veterinary technology and an outstanding team. The role involves supporting veterinarians and technicians in various hospital areas, delivering professional client service, and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain husbandry requirements such as cleanliness, nutrition, bedding, physical therapy, and comfort for patients.
• Perform assessments like pain scoring and vital signs; assist with treatments and document observations in medical records.
• Help with patient handling, diagnostic testing, nursing care, and patient admissions/discharges.
• Support emergency procedures, including triage, patient transport, and CPR assistance.
• Transport patients within and outside the hospital.
• Assist with cleaning and sterilizing surgical and medical equipment.
• Conduct basic in-house laboratory tests and manage related documentation.
• Communicate effectively with doctors and technicians regarding patient status.
• Provide aftercare as per owner instructions and report concerns to appropriate personnel.

Ideal Candidate:

• Preferred 6 months of veterinary experience; credentials are a plus but not required.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and flexibility to adapt and multitask.
