Job summary

UrgentVet, Inc. is seeking a licensed DVM for urgent care in the Houston area. The role focuses on after-hours care for canine and feline patients with a paperless clinic, cloud EMR, digital radiography, and IDEXX in-house labs. Expect flexible swing/second shifts with no routine wellness visits.

You will collaborate with a strong technical team, mentor staff, and provide compassionate, efficient care across urgent cases. Cypress/Houston location with a modern hospital environment.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college.
• Active license to practice in the state or the ability to obtain one in that state.

Responsibilities

• Serve patients and clients with a relationship-based approach.
• Collaborate with the clinical team and leadership.
• Grow relationships within the practice and the Houston community.
• Support staff growth through internal LevelUp training program.
• Manage a varying caseload, including surgeries and appointments during open hours.

UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care in the Houston, TX area. We offer after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our single-doctor shifts offer care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Each of our paperless clinics is specially designed to deliver efficient care and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in‑house lab equipment.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program)
• Active license in good standing to practice in the state in which candidate will be employed (or the ability to obtain a license in that state)
