Job summary

Qualifications

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and port-related personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of waterfront facilities, terminals, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access as directed, and maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation.
• Assist with traffic flow, visitor direction, and coordination with appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders during routine operations and emergencies.
