Job summary

Allied Universal® in New York, NY seeks a Security Guard Full Time Unarmed Site Patrol. Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and partner agencies by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government human services location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, perimeters, and surrounding property, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, residents, visitors, and emergency responders while supporting a respectful, orderly environment.
