Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer to patrol a healthcare location in Plymouth, MN, providing excellent customer service, monitoring access, and responding to alarms and incidents. The role is full-time and pays hourly, with a regular day schedule and opportunities to use smart tools for shift management.

You’ll engage with staff and visitors, perform site-specific procedures, and document events clearly for site leadership. A driver’s license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required per policy.
• Experience with access control and badge systems preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a healthcare and laboratory location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, parking areas, perimeter locations, and restricted laboratory-related spaces.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events according to site policy.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance or hazard-related concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
