Job summary

Children's Home Society of South Dakota is hiring a Full-Time Cook to prepare meals and snacks for residents, day students, and staff. The role requires adherence to trauma-informed care principles and a commitment to equity and inclusion.

Starting pay is $20.00+ per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for tuition reimbursement, PTO, and retirement contributions. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and some experience in quantity food production.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Some experience in quantity food production preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill menu requirements and serve meals.
• Wash pots and pans, trays, dishes, etc.
• Take out kitchen trash to outside trash bins.
• Cover, label and date all suitable leftovers for storage.
• Take and record food temperatures at mealtime.
• Maintain personal cleanliness, as well as cleanliness of the kitchen and storage areas.
• Take and record refrigerator, freezer and dishwashing machine temperatures.
• Attend team meetings as required.
• Participate in required in-service training.
