Job summary

The Learning Experience in Gaithersburg, MD is hiring a nurturing Toddler Teacher for our early childhood education team. You will lead daily routines, implement our LEAP Curriculum, and create engaging activities to foster language, social-emotional growth, and independence.

The role offers a full-time Monday–Friday schedule, competitive pay ($17-$20 per hour based on experience), paid training, and opportunities for advancement in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must meet Maryland requirements to serve as a qualified Infant/Toddler Teacher.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous professional toddler, daycare, childcare, or early childhood experience preferred.
• Experience with infants or toddlers a plus.
• CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, or related credentials are a plus.
• Patient, nurturing, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Ability to meet all applicable Maryland childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily routines and learning experiences in a Toddler classroom.
• Implement The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
• Create age-appropriate activities through art, music, movement, sensory play, and exploration.
• Support language, cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development.
• Encourage independence and developing self-help skills.
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Maintain consistent routines and positive classroom guidance.
• Observe developmental progress and maintain required documentation.
• Build positive relationships and communicate regularly with families.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and center leadership.
• Follow Maryland childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
