Job summary

Broughton Hospital, part of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, is hiring full-time Recreational Therapy Assistants. You will support Therapists, monitor clients during activities, and document responses to guide treatment plans.

Role requires licensure as a Recreational Therapy Assistant and ability to work with diverse clients. Work location is on-site with potential for flexible scheduling and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of human structures, physiology, movement mechanics, lifecycle growth, and psychology.
• Working knowledge of recreational therapy, activities, principles, modalities and their implementation.
• Knowledge of assessment and evaluation tools.
• Ability to work with diverse clients (ages, mental/physical capabilities).
• Ability to observe, report and document patient/client responses.

Responsibilities

• Support Therapists by implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Independently monitor clients during prescribed activities and observe progression.
• Document daily client responses and report to the treatment team.
• Provide recommendations for adjustments to treatment plans based on observations.
