FULL-TIME TENDURE TRACK FACULTY - CYBER SECURITY

KENNEDY KING COLLEGE

Kennedy King College is currently seeking a Full-Time Faculty todesign and deliver instruction to students enrolled in the CyberSecurity Program. If you have passion for teaching and learning andare committed to the mission of the community college, considerjoining our team. The ideal candidate will have demonstratedsuccess in the classroom by developing and using effective teachingstrategies that meet students’ diverse needs and engage the studentin critical thinking and problem-solving. The successful applicantmust be willing to work a flexible schedule at multiple sites, beable to work well with students, faculty, and staff at all levelswithin a diverse, multicultural, collaborative environment, have anextensive knowledge of Cyber Security and be enthusiastic aboutsharing that knowledge in an engaging manner with all students.Teaching Strategies that utilize the best practices in educationand regularly incorporates them into instruction.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

• Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve usingdiscipline-specific thinking strategies.
• Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments toensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and theattainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
• Help students reach their academic, personal and career goalsand foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of peopleand ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveyingconfidence in every student’s ability to learn.
• Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academicand professional communities and promote collaboration and teamworkamong members of these communities.
• Provide instruction during scheduled class time.
• Prepare, deliver, and facilitate class lectures and discussionsto students on topics related to course objectives and studentlearning outcomes.
• Prepare course materials, including course syllabi; evaluatestudent work/performance; log student participation (i.e.,attendance); and develop assessment instruments to measure studentlearning and other resources necessary to support classroominstruction, etc.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations; evaluate and gradestudents' class work, assignments, and papers.
• Hold office hours for student conferences and otherinstructional support needs.
• Participate in various department and or college-wideactivities or committees.
• Complete all mandatory midterm/final grading and active pursuitcertifications required by the college.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,Information Technology, or Computer Engineering and preferably workexperience in the area of Computer Security Forensics Investigationand Networking Certification programs.
• Experience as an instructor/trainer including planning,scheduling, and delivering cyber security and related trainingprograms and materials.
  Excellent troubleshooting skills, self-motivated, results-driven,and well organized.

  • Cisco Certified Network Association (CCNA)-Preferred
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)-Preferred
  • Cisco Cyberops Associate (formerly CCNA CyberOpsAssociate)
  • CompTIA Security+
  • EC Council Certified Ethical Hacker
  • EC Council Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator

Salary range: $58,000 - $65,000

• Offered salary will be determined by the respective collectivebargaining agreement and applicant's education.

Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees withinsix (6) months of hire.
