Job Description

Northwest Tellers are important members of our retail network team because they often have the most interaction with our customers. They provide excellent customer service by welcoming customers, efficiently processing transactions, resolving problems, offering educational services, and uncovering financial needs for referrals to the appropriate line of business.

Description

Northwest Tellers are key members of our retail team, engaging directly with customers to deliver exceptional service, process transactions, resolve issues, and identify financial needs for potential referrals.

Essential Functions
  1. Achieve financial wellness activity goals, such as identifying referral opportunities and contributing to sales performance.
  2. Assist customers with questions, problem resolution, and needs, proactively engaging to understand and inform about products/services, and referring complex requests to appropriate team members.
  3. Engage with and greet customers, taking ownership of resolving issues or concerns.
  4. Balance teller drawer daily, participate in meetings, and assist with vault, ATM, and device balancing as needed.
  5. Deliver the North(west) star experience, championing customer’s financial wellness through exceptional service in person, over the phone, and via email.
  6. Exhibit our 5 Culture Promises through your service.
  7. Complete assigned educational training and self-educate using bank-designed programs.
  8. Maintain general knowledge of office systems, bank products, services, and digital offerings.
  9. Adhere to all security and dual control processes.
  10. Participate in branch opening and closing tasks as needed.
  11. Follow compliance, risk, and operational procedures to protect the bank.
  12. Work collaboratively with colleagues, demonstrating professionalism and supporting management.
  13. Work evening hours and weekends as scheduled or necessary.
  14. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
  15. Navigate Microsoft Office and department-specific applications efficiently.
  16. Work effectively as part of a team and with on-site equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  1. Establish effective working relationships and participate in problem-solving and decision-making.
  2. Communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  3. Actively listen and share information openly.
  4. Set and monitor goals, manage resources effectively.
  5. Exercise good judgment and make sound decisions.
  6. Possess knowledge of computers and teller systems.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, candidates should meet the following requirements:

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Work Experience
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Cash handling experience preferred
  • Banking and/or retail experience preferred
