Full-Time Teller - Brownsville Branch (Administrative)

Summary: Employee will accurately and efficiently perform in a professional environment, serving as the face of Somerset Trust Company to retail branch customers. Responsibilities include providing personable, quick service, executing regular procedures, and handling customer requests and transactions such as check cashing, deposits, loan payments, and product explanations. Employee should identify opportunities to refer customers as needed, communicate clearly and respectfully, and resolve customer issues effectively.

Qualifications: To succeed, an individual must perform each essential duty with consistent accuracy. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

  • Greet customers warmly.
  • Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and examine checks for endorsements.
  • Cash checks and pay out money after signature and customer balance verification.
  • Enter transactions into the computer system and issue receipts.
  • Balance cash drawer at end of shift and reconcile with computer data.
  • Recognize opportunities to promote or sell bank products and services.
  • Handle deposits, cash counts, and night depository operations.
  • Accept loan payments.
  • Resolve customer issues as they arise.
  • Support all BSA/AML responsibilities in compliance with bank policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, or 3-6 months related experience/training, or an equivalent combination.

Skills: Ability to read and interpret procedures, communicate clearly, write routine reports, perform basic math, apply common sense, and learn new technologies. Receptive to new ideas.

Physical Demands: Regularly sit, use hands for operating equipment, talk, hear, walk, reach, and occasionally stand. May lift/move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close and peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment: Moderate noise level, with accommodations available for disabilities.
