Job summary

Central New Mexico Community College is seeking two full-time English faculty members to teach technical and professional writing and first-year composition. Positions are permanent, teaching 15 credit hours per term in Fall and Spring semesters.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Composition and Rhetoric, Technical and Professional Communication, or closely related field.
• Four semesters of post-secondary teaching experience in writing.
• PhD from an accredited institution in the field is preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching first-year composition and technical writing pedagogy.
• Experience designing and assessing curricula for technical/professional writing or first-year composition.
• Proven ability to engage students with writing in online modalities.
• Commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive teaching approaches.
• Familiarity with best practices for teaching dual-enrollment students.
• Recent two-year college teaching experience (within the past five years).

Responsibilities

• Teach technical and professional writing and first-year composition.
• Prepare, teach, grade, and assess student learning; model a quality learning environment.
• Structure classes to meet program outcomes and utilize instructional materials.
• Maintain student records, attend meetings, and participate in college service.
• Update and revise curriculum to maintain currency and assess outcomes.
