Congregation Etz Hayim (CEH) is seeking a Synagogue Director to lead day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and financial oversight while partnering with the Rabbi and Board on strategic priorities. The role emphasizes warmth, inclusivity and a hands-on, relationship-centered leadership style.

The successful candidate will balance big-picture planning with operational oversight, supporting programs, engaging members, and ensuring a welcoming building and vibrant community life.

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit or Jewish communal leadership, including staff supervision.
• Strong organizational, financial, and project management skills (knowledge of ShulCloud a plus).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A collaborative spirit and a warm, welcoming presence with a commitment to fostering an inclusive Jewish community.

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Serve as a visible, approachable presence in synagogue life - supporting congregants, volunteers, and staff with warmth and professionalism.
• Supervise and support our professional team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Oversee daily operations, office systems, and synagogue calendar coordination; ensure building safety and maintenance.
• Lead communications and marketing efforts across newsletters, email, website, and social media.
