As a Store Manager Trainee, you’ll train on all aspects of successfully running a store in preparation for managing your own store. Your responsibilities include supervising daily store activities, ensuring overall store performance, staffing, scheduling, developing operational plans, and mentoring the team.

Position Details
  • Type: Full-Time
  • Hours: 45 hours/week
  • Starting Wage: $28.50/hour
  • Potential Year 1 Earnings: Up to $103,000 (including salary and bonuses; varies by location)
Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate ALDI's Mindsets, Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.)
  • Supervise store operations and team performance to deliver excellent customer service
  • Communicate and model company values to foster teamwork
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues appropriately
  • Maintain store signage, product quality, and freshness
  • Assist in hiring processes, including reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates
  • Manage weekly staff schedules
  • Set clear job responsibilities and performance expectations
  • Conduct store meetings and training sessions
  • Perform annual performance evaluations and recommend promotions or terminations
  • Achieve payroll and loss prevention goals
  • Manage cash audits and monitor the competitive environment
  • Provide product feedback and inventory management
  • Ensure safety standards and maintain store equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
  • Stock merchandise, lift up to 45 pounds, and perform store maintenance tasks
  • Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and walk within the store
Qualifications
  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Provide excellent customer service and develop team rapport
  • Interpret company policies, set goals, and evaluate performance
  • Manage budgets and operate store equipment safely
  • Stay organized and detail-oriented
  • State and local alcohol handling requirements
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 3 years in retail; management experience preferred
  • Combination of education and experience acceptable
Travel
  • Must be flexible to travel between locations during training
