Job Description: Store Associate

As a Store Associate, you will be responsible for merchandising, stocking products, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness to ensure the store's optimal appearance. Your role involves enhancing the customer shopping experience through collaboration with the ALDI team and delivering exceptional customer service.

Position Details

• Type: Full-Time
• Average Hours: 32-40 hours/week
• Starting Wage: $17.00/hour
• Wage Progression: Year 2 - $17.50, Year 3 - $18.00, Year 4 - $18.00, Year 5 - $19.00

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.)
• Process customer purchases, perform cleaning duties, stock shelves, and organize displays
• Provide excellent customer service and assist shoppers
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and management
• Offer feedback on products, inventory, and store issues
• Conduct inventory counts and monitor stock accuracy
• Follow cash handling policies to prevent losses
• Adhere to company policies, ensuring security and confidentiality
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Stock merchandise, lift up to 45 pounds, and operate equipment safely
• Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and walk within the store

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service
• Operate cash register accurately
• Safely operate equipment like hand jacks and floor scrubbers
• Perform cleaning to company standards
• Interpret and apply policies
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Stay organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
• Meet state and local requirements for handling alcohol (if applicable)

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Retail experience preferred
• Equivalent education and experience accepted
