Job description

As a Store Associate, you'll be responsible for merchandising and stocking product, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store looking its best. You'll enhance the customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service.

Position Details:

1. Position Type: Full-Time
2. Average Hours: 32-40 hours per week
3. Starting Wage: $17.50 per hour
4. Wage Increases: Year 2 - $18.00 | Year 3 - $18.50 | Year 4 - $18.50 | Year 5 - $19.50

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Consistently demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as outlined for the role.
• Process customer purchases, perform general cleaning duties, stock shelves, and merchandise displays neatly.
• Provide exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their shopping experience.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly with the store management team.
• Provide feedback to management on products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues.
• Participate in inventory counts and monitor inventory for accuracy.
• Adhere to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, maintaining security and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Stock merchandise, including lifting weights up to 45 pounds and placing products on shelves at various heights.
• Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.
• Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:

• You must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
• Operate cash register efficiently and accurately.
• Safely operate equipment such as hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and balers.
• Perform general cleaning to company standards.
• Interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Stay organized, attentive to detail, follow instructions, and multi-task professionally.
• Meet state and local requirements for handling and selling alcohol if applicable.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior retail experience preferred.
• Equivalent knowledge through a combination of education and experience.
