Job summary

Summit Academy North in Romulus, MI is seeking a full‑time Special Education Teacher to support students with disabilities. The role involves creating and delivering individualized instruction, developing IEPs, and collaborating with general education staff to ensure inclusive practices.

Qualified candidates will hold a Michigan teaching certificate for secondary education with a Special Education endorsement and have experience working with diverse learners in a dynamic school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in Special Education.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Develop assessments and evaluate student performance using varied methods.
• Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs.
• Deliver instruction in various settings (one‑on‑one, small group, co‑taught).
• Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to support inclusion.
