Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education is required with Michigan secondary certification in Special Education.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with families and staff.
• Knowledge of best practices and research in special education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned to standards for students with special needs.
• Create, monitor, and adjust IEPs to meet individual student goals.
• Deliver instruction in one-on-one, small group, and co-taught settings using evidence-based strategies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to include students with disabilities in all activities.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of services and student performance.
• Communicate effectively with families and school personnel; participate in meetings and events.
• Maintain a safe, positive classroom environment and adhere to school policies.
