Job summary

Mechanicsburg Area School District seeks Special Education Instructional Assistants for Learning Support (LS) and Emotional Support (ES) classrooms at the Senior High School for the 2026/2027 year. Positions are full-time during the school year with comprehensive medical, dental, vision and life insurance.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers and students, providing instruction, and adapting materials.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with general typing ability and computer skills.
• Experience working with children in an instructional setting preferred.
• Chapter 14 requires meeting one of the following qualifications: two years of postsecondary study, an associate degree or higher, OR completion of an assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance to teachers and/or students in the assigned setting.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce material or skills introduced by the teacher.
• Adapt instructional material for specific students as needed.
• Support students in maintaining organization of assignments and materials, study skills, and group work.
