Job summary

Jackson County Intermediate School District is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support general and special education staff in delivering educational activities. The TA will assist with basic needs, feeding, toileting, and communication strategies while prioritizing safety and students’ educational goals.

The role involves helping with behavior management, classroom routines, and documentation, with employment starting as soon as possible and benefits including health-related coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred experience as an aide in special education settings.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities and to follow IEP goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic student needs including feeding, toileting, and self-help tasks.
• Support instruction and small group activities under supervision.
• Assist with behavior management and classroom routines.
• Help monitor safety during bus loading/unloading, gym, and playground.
• Maintain records and assist with administrative tasks related to student needs.
