Job summary

Big Spring ISD is hiring a Special Education Aide for Big Spring Junior High School in Big Spring, Texas. The aide will assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials, managing classroom activities, and supporting students with various needs under direct supervision.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED with NCLB compliance; preferred candidates have some college coursework or an associate degree and the ability to work well with children, plus basic office equipment

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must meet NCLB requirements.
• Ability to teach reading/writing/mathematics readiness and support instructional activities.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and enforce school rules and policies.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Work with individuals or small groups on instructional exercises.
• Assist in administering and scoring tests and assignments.
• Supervise students during the school day and communicate needs to the teacher.
• Maintain neat and orderly classroom and assist with equipment maintenance.
• Prepare required reports and records for administration.
• Participate in staff development and school events.
