Job Summary
Bring service, quality, teamwork, and hospitality to the food and beverage experience as a Sous Chef. The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef with culinary production, kitchen supervision, food quality, sanitation, inventory, ordering, staff coaching, and event or outlet preparation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead or support daily kitchen operations and ensure consistent, high-quality food production
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
- Create or support fresh, creative menu ideas for events, restaurants, breakfast, or outlet needs
- Perform daily preparation, line operations, and kitchen production tasks
- Follow safe food and workplace guidelines
- Manage or support purchasing, receiving, budgeting, inventory, and controllable costs
- Attend BEO or food and beverage planning meetings where assigned
- Review menus and recommend updates when needed
- Staff, train, coach, discipline, and lead kitchen associates where assigned
- Meet with property leadership to discuss food and beverage needs
- Replenish supplies during shifts and support service areas as needed
- Adhere to company policies, standards, procedures, and property-specific expectations
- Extend professionalism to guests, residents, customers, clients, vendors, and associates
- Be proactive, prompt, dependable, and attentive to detail
- Act with integrity, demonstrate teamwork, and maintain the spirit to serve
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and be in uniform as assigned
- Understand and follow basic safety, security, and emergency procedures
- Support a culturally diverse workplace and comply with applicable Federal and State laws
- Assist in other departments or property-specific tasks as business needs require
- Maintain sanitary conditions and follow safe food, beverage, and alcohol service expectations applicable to the role

Essential Skills and Experience

- Knowledge of preparing and serving food and beverages
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and food and beverage service standards
- Cash handling or point-of-sale skills may be required depending on brand or outlet
- Five or more years of hospitality industry experience in a similar role preferred
- Experience managing food and labor costs, purchasing, receiving, and inventory
- Flexible scheduling may be required based on business needs, including weekends, holidays, days, evenings, and nights
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and work safely per Federal, State, Terratron, and Brand policies
