Job summary

Arcon Electric is seeking a motivated Shop Technician to keep our shop and yard organized and to stock tools for field crews in the Florida Panhandle. You will receive, inspect, and arrange incoming tools, equipment, and materials, and get items ready for our crews, ensuring everything is accounted for.

You will load, unload, and deliver tools or materials to job sites, maintain a safe workspace, and support shop and field operations year-round.

Qualifications

• Active, valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; more with assistance.
• Organized, detail-oriented, reliable with good attendance.
• Electrical background is a plus but not required.
• Basic tool and equipment maintenance knowledge is a bonus.
• Able to work independently and with a team; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Keep shop and yard clean and organized.
• Receive, inspect, and arrange incoming tools, equipment, and materials.
• Prepare tools and equipment for field crews; ensure accountability.
• Clean, maintain, and perform small repairs on tools and equipment.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies.

• Deliver tools/materials to job sites in surrounding areas using company vehicle.
• Maintain a safe workspace indoors and outdoors.
• Support shop and field operations as needed.
• Property maintenance as needed and pull equipment trailers.

Job Summary

Arcon Electric is looking for a motivated and dependable Shop Technician to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring our field crews have the right tools and materials when and where they need them. You'll be instrumental in keeping our shop organized and our operations running smoothly.

Employment is contingent upon successful enrollment in our company's insurance policy.

What You'll Do

• Help keep our company shop and yard clean and organized.
• Receive, inspect, and arrange incoming tools, equipment, and materials.
• Get tools and equipment ready for our field crews, making sure everything is accounted for.
• Clean, maintain, and perform small repairs on tools and equipment.
• Help manage inventory, which includes tracking and restocking supplies.
• Load and unload vehicles with tools, equipment, and materials.
• Use a company vehicle to deliver tools or materials to job sites in the surrounding areas.
• Maintain a safe workspace, both inside and outside the shop.
• Handle other tasks as needed to support our shop and field operations.
• Property maintenance as needed.
• Pull equipment trailer

What We're Looking For

• You must have and maintain an active, valid Driver's License.
• You must be able to handle heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs. regularly, and more with assistance occasionally).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are a must.
• An electrical background or experience is a plus, but not strictly required.
• Basic knowledge of how to maintain tools and equipment is a bonus.
• Ability to work well on your own and with a team.
• Strong communication skills.

Schedule

• Days: Monday - Friday
• Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Lunch: Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• This job involves a lot of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
• You'll need to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.
• Much of your work will be outdoors and in varying weather, including hot conditions.
• Expect exposure to typical shop and construction elements like noise and dust.
