Job summary

Park Place of Elmhurst, a nonprofit senior living community, seeks a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to support our mission of delivering quality care. This on-site role involves following maintenance schedules, coordinating with nursing staff, and performing routine upkeep to ensure resident comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate is entry-level, mature, and career-minded, with a high school diploma; experience with furnaces or hot water heaters is a plus.

Qualifications

Entry-level position.
High School diploma required.
Must be mature and career minded.
Experience with diagnosing, repairing electronic ignition systems for heaters, furnaces and hot water heaters is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area.
Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator.
Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed.
Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and perform cleaning duties wherever necessary.
Regulate heating and ventilation systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of energy.
