Job summary

Allied Universal in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Security Officer Patrol Hazard Recognition to protect students, staff and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence and respond to security concerns.

This full-time role offers a daytime schedule with multiple shifts and a pay rate of $18.87 per hour. The position emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and adherence to site procedures.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established school and site procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directing guests, and report access‑control concerns to appropriate school personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to school administration, law enforcement, and Allied Universal supervision as directed.
