Job summary

Mechanicsburg Area School District seeks a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to support education for deaf and hard of hearing students in the classroom and school environment.

The interpreter will provide sign language interpretation and transliteration between students and staff, collaborating with the IEP team to ensure effective communication and access to curriculum. This is a year-round school-position with required clearances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EIPA score at least 3.5 (70%) required per student plan.
• Criminal History, Child Abuse History, FBI clearance, Act 168 forms and I-9 required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide sign language interpretation and/or transliteration between deaf and hard of hearing students and hearing staff and students in the educational setting.
