Job summary

Boerne Independent School District is seeking a School Nurse to support student health services across campuses in Boerne, Texas. This role requires RN or LVN licensure in Texas, AED/CPR certification, and a background in school health settings.

The nurse will implement health plans, provide direct student care, and collaborate with families and district staff. The position is locally funded, with pay based on the Boerne ISD Teacher Step Scale.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program.
Current RN or LVN license (Texas Board of Nursing).
AED and CPR certification.
Satisfactory fingerprinting background check.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care using assessment skills, nursing process, IHPs, and health protocols; offer health counseling to students.
Coordinate with parents, healthcare professionals, and school staff to meet students' health needs and referrals.
Notify parents of accidents or illnesses; secure emergency medical care when needed.
Develop and implement Individual Health Plans for medically fragile students and evaluate care outcomes.
Administer medications per district policy and ensure safe medication practices.
Lead and participate in health education and staff development activities; support school health initiatives.
Supervise assigned health clinic aide(s) and ensure clinic operations run smoothly.
