Dunlap School District #323 is seeking a Full-Time Personal Care Nurse at Dunlap High School. The role involves direct nursing care for medically fragile students, implementing health plans, and coordination with families and school staff to support safe access to education.

Full-time schedule, Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day, August–May, with benefits. Reports to the Director of Student Services and requires IL RN licensure and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois is required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Experience with medically fragile children and school nursing preferred.
• Ability to follow physician orders, health plans and district procedures.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct professional nursing services to medically fragile students during the school day.
• Implement individualized health care plans and emergency action plans as applicable.
• Administer medications and provide medical care including advanced procedures as ordered.
• Monitor student health and determine when to notify parents/guardians or seek emergency care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential health documentation in compliance with laws and district policies.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and healthcare providers regarding health needs and care plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and district personnel to ensure continuity of care.
• Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment for the assigned student.
• Support safe participation in classroom activities and school-sponsored events.
