The North Polk Community School District is seeking a diligent Groundskeeper to maintain the district’s outdoor spaces, athletic fields, and associated facilities in Grimes, IA. The role involves 40 hours weekly, with competitive hourly pay and strong benefits.

Responsibilities include landscape maintenance, equipment operation, snow and ice removal, and after-hours response. A valid driver’s license, basic education, and a willingness to obtain a pesticide license within 6 months are required.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pesticide applicator license within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of one year related experience.
• Background check required post-offer.
• Knowledge of landscape installation and maintenance.
• Ability to follow district safety policies and procedures.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsabilités

• Maintain district grounds, lawns, sidewalks, tracks, and fields through mowing, trimming, edging, watering, aerating, sod, and seasonal cleanup.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment safely and efficiently.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and snow removal.
• Install, inspect, repair, and maintain playground equipment, fencing, signs, and drainage infrastructure.
• Assist with seasonal staff training and supervision; support district operations.
