Job summary

Winthrop School in Ipswich, Massachusetts, is seeking a full-time custodian serving Pre-K through Grade 5. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with duties including cleaning, sanitization, maintenance and safety checks across the school grounds and building.

The position is union, benefited, and located at Winthrop School within the Ipswich Public Schools system. Candidates must be able to perform snow removal and operate various floor machines and equipment.

Qualifications

• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, Washing, Sanitization of entire school grounds such as bathrooms, classrooms, offices etc.
• Mopping, stripping and waxing of various flooring systems
• Vacuuming, shampooing and cleaning of rugs
• Moving and assembly of furniture and equipment
• Handling of trash, recycling and composting
• Perform School grounds and building health and safety checks
• Perform School grounds and building security checks
• Perform minor maintenance including painting, repairs, changing bulbs etc.
• Perform minor fields and grounds maintenance as needed
• Must be able and available for snow removal and other events which may require over time
• Must be able to handle various equipment such as but limited not to the following:
• Floor Machines
• Snow Blower
