Job summary

Onsted Community Schools is seeking a dedicated Full-Time School Custodian to maintain cleanliness across classrooms, offices, restrooms and common areas. This role involves operating cleaning equipment, lifting and moving supplies, and adhering to district safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must pass a physical examination and drug test.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning and dusting of floors, restrooms, classrooms and offices.
• Painting interior and exterior walls.
• Minor repairs of equipment and refinishing floors.
• Set up and tear down for events.
• Mowing, trimming and maintaining fields.
• Snow removal.
• Other duties assigned by supervisor.

Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to perform the physical duties as required by the job including but not limited to the ability to lift 80 pounds.
• Must be able to climb a ladder and use a lift.
• Must be able to get along with students, staff and public.
• Must be able to operate power machinery such as scrubbers, mowers, buffers, vacuums, etc.
• Must pass a physical examination and drug test by an approved physician before starting work.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties of the custodian will include but not be limited to:

• General cleaning and dusting. This will include:
• Floors
• Restrooms
• Classrooms
• Offices
• Vomit and blood clean up in all buildings
• Other areas
• Painting interior and exterior walls.
• Minor repairs of equipment including but not limited to locker repair, furniture repair, and water shut off.
• Refinishing floors.
• Set up and tear down for events.
• Mowing
• Trimming
• Lining fields
• Planting shrubs
• Cleaning play areas
• Cleaning parking lots
• Snow removal.
• Other duties assigned by the supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

The contract terms of this position are included in the Onsted Educational Support Personnel Association.

Time: 11:00 am - 7:30pm. Shift times are subject to change within contract guidelines.
