Job summary

Onsted Community Schools is seeking a Full-Time School Custodian in Onsted, MI. The role requires physical work, operation of custodial equipment, and the ability to maintain clean classrooms, offices, and outdoor spaces.

The employee will work the 3:00 am – 11:30 pm shift with contract guidelines and benefits including paid holidays, health coverage, uniform allowance, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform the physical duties including lifting 80 pounds.
• Must be able to climb a ladder and use a lift.
• Must get along with students, staff, and the public.
• Must operate power machinery such as scrubbers, mowers, buffers, vacuums, etc.
• Must pass a physical examination and drug test by an approved physician before starting work.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning and dusting of floors, restrooms, classrooms, and offices.
• Vomit and blood cleanup in all buildings.
• Paint interior and exterior walls. Minor repairs of equipment and water shut-off.
• Refinish floors and set up/tear down for events.
• Mow, trim, line fields, plant shrubs, and clean outdoor areas including parking lots and snow removal.

• Minor repairs of equipment, including but not limited to locker repair, furniture repair, and water shut-off.
• Refinishing floors.
• Set up and tear down for events.
• Mowing
• Trimming
• Lining fields
• Planting shrubs
• Cleaning play areas
• Cleaning parking lots
• Snow removal.
• Other duties assigned by the supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
