Job summary

Camdenton R-III Schools is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Utility Bus Driver to transport students safely on designated routes and shuttles. Responsibilities include daily safety inspections, maintenance of the bus, and maintaining positive communication with students and parents to ensure student well-being and on-time service.

Position requires a CDL with S and P endorsements and a clean driving record; workdays total 179 per year with 8-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid CDL with School Bus and Passenger endorsements.
• Clean driving record is required.
• Completion of district training program.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety rules and traffic laws in all operations.
• Perform daily pre and post trip safety inspections using the Driver's Daily Report.
• Initiate follow-up actions to correct equipment deficiencies from reports.
• Ensure no students are left unattended on the bus per district procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of the assigned bus through regular cleaning.
• Transport students on designated morning and evening routes and shuttles.
• Conduct emergency school bus drills and safety demonstrations when directed.
• Establish positive relationships with students and parents to promote safety.
• Instruct students on rules, conduct, and safety on the bus.
• Communicate with parents to address minor discipline issues; serious offenses may bypass parent communication.
• Perform head counts and provide written reports as directed.
• Comply with driver rules and regulations of State and district authorities.
• Attend non-student days designated for professional development.
• Undergo medical examination 90 days prior to the school year.
• Maintain personal hygiene and appearance suitable for a Camdenton district representative.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Education
