Springfield International Charter School is seeking a dedicated bus driver for the full academic year. Responsibilities include transporting athletic teams to competitions, coordinating with the Athletic Director, and supporting school activities as needed.

Applicants should hold a valid CDL with a passenger and school bus endorsement and have prior bus driving experience. Excellent communication and a clean DMV/ drug test record are required.

Qualifications

• CDL license required.
• Passenger and school bus endorsement required.
• Previous experience as a bus driver.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Successfully passing a drug test and DMV check is part of the hiring process.

Responsabilités

• Transport students to competitions, some long distances.
• Assist with monitoring other school activities as assigned.
• Organize athletic storeroom; make phone calls for Athletic Director.
• Flex work hours based on athletic schedule; full academic year commitment.
• Maintain vehicle safety checks and reporting (fuel, mileage, passenger numbers).

Salary: 35,000 to 40,000/year

Position Responsibilities

The main focus of this position will be to transport students (typically athletic teams) to competitions, some being as far away as the Berkshires or Boston. When not performing these duties the candidate will participate in monitoring other school activities as assigned which could include organizing the athletic storeroom; making phone calls for the Athletic Director, bathroom or lunch monitoring. Work hours will flex based on Athletic schedule. This position is for the full academic year.

Specific bus driver responsibilities include

• Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety
• Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops
• Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals, mechanical equipment, etc.
• Monitoring and reporting fuel consumption, mileage and passenger numbers
• Inspecting the vehicle thoroughly before and after each trip
• Maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
