Job summary

The City of Johnson City is seeking a Full-Time Sanitation Equipment Operator to join its on-site team. You will operate residential, commercial, and recycling sanitation equipment and load/unload materials while maintaining safety and efficiency in Johnson City.

Applicants should have knowledge of traffic laws governing equipment operation and a valid CDL is highly valued. The role may involve supervising others and performing routine repairs when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• CDL driving license preferred/required for operation of heavy equipment.
• Experience with operating and maintenance of heavy public works equipment is desirable.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to perform minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential, commercial, and recycling sanitation equipment.
• Load and unload collected materials and ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Operate front-loading and rear-loading trucks and related machinery.
• Supervise subordinate operators and maintain safety and cleanliness in the community.
