Job description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Associate Lead is primarily responsible for supporting management in the general operations of the store to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability. Performs various sales and register transactions.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Customer Service: Promotes customer service by greeting and assisting customers; responds to inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly.
  2. Operational Tasks: Handles cash, reports, price changes, merchandise handling, and opening/closing duties; reviews payroll documentation for accuracy.
  3. Sales Monitoring: Oversees sales activities and productivity; motivates and trains associates to meet sales goals.
  4. Security & Awareness: Maintains awareness of customer activity to enhance service and security; stays updated on payment, exchange, and security policies.
  5. Merchandise & Promotions: Knowledgeable of current sales/promotions; displays merchandise per standards.
  6. Inventory & Supplies: Manages receipt and dispatch of inventory and supplies according to company policies.
  7. Supervision & Scheduling: Supervises sales associates; prepares weekly schedules for proper coverage.
  8. Product Knowledge & Customer Engagement: Uses techniques and product knowledge to assist customers; builds customer loyalty through clienteling.
  9. Standards & Visuals: Maintains standards in merchandise handling, presentation, and loss prevention; participates in visual merchandising.
  10. Team Development: Assists in developing store associates; interprets KPIs and provides coaching; offers feedback for performance appraisals.
  11. Additional Duties: Performs other tasks as assigned, varying by brand.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • Preferred: 2+ years retail or sales management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willing to travel within the district.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of store operations.
  • Physical ability to operate the sales floor, lift 50 pounds, and perform related tasks.
  • Reliable attendance and flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
