Qualifications

• RN license in the State of South Carolina is required.
• New graduate RNs educated online may not meet LMC minimum qualifications.
• Minimum Years of Experience: None.
• Substitutable Education & Experience: None.

Responsibilities

• Establishes positive rapport with patient and family.
• Provides education to patient and family about condition, medications, and self-care.
• Serves as patient/family advocate and documents actions for continuity of care.
• Uses systematic critical-thinking to guide assessment and interventions.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to infection-control policies.
• Supports ethical decision making and patient outcomes.
• L&D: experienced RNs may perform screening exams under EMTALA when qualified.
