Job summary

Oaknoll Retirement Residence is seeking a full-time Registered Dietitian to join a resident-centered care team in Iowa City, IA. You will assess and plan individualized nutrition interventions for residents, ensure compliance with nutrition regulations, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize diet plans and health outcomes.

Applicants should have geriatric nutrition experience, and hold a RD credential; continuing education and licensure must be maintained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Nutrition or Dietetics.
• Registered Dietitian credential through the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing.
• Maintain required continuing education and license renewal requirements.
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing with knowledge of therapeutic diets, geriatric nutrition, weight management, nutrition support, and safe food handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to nutrition and dining in long‑term care settings.
• Assess complex nutritional needs and develop appropriate interventions.
• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments at admission and with significant condition changes, and create individualized plans.
• Monitor weight, diet, and nutrition‑related risks; recommend interventions.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and communicate recommendations.

Oaknoll is currently seeking a full-time Registered Dietician to join our team. An outstanding candidate will demonstrate an understanding of resident-centered care/service and have experience in geriatric nutrition and theraputic diets. The primary responsibilities of the Registered Dietician will include but are not limited to: Maintaining knowledge of state and federal regulations as they pertain to nutrition and dining in long-term care settings. Assessing complex nutritional needs and developing appropriate interventions. Conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents upon admission, after any significant change in condition, and regularly as required, developing individualized nutrition plans based on residents' medical conditions, nutritional needs, preferences, goals, and physician orders. Monitor residents for changes in weight, diet, and other nutrition-related risks and recommend appropriate interventions. Participating in an interdisciplinary care planning team and communicating recommendations to residents, families, physicians, and all other members of the care planning team.
